Submission details
Authors will be required to indicate their preferred presentation format when submitting an abstract.
BacPath 2026 will be offering the opportunity/eligibility for poster and oral prizes!
To be eligible, you must be a student, ECR or MCR, and a current financial member of ASM. Remember to indicate if you are a student, ECR or MCR when submitting your abstract!
Please read the following instructions prior to submitting your abstract.
Before you start
Mac users: if you have trouble submitting, try from a PC. If issues persist, contact the Conference Secretariat ASN Events.
Ensure your abstract text is less than 300 words — the system will not accept submissions over this limit. The word count does not include your title, authoring or cited references. Have your abstract open on your computer to cut and paste it into the submission system.
Submission steps
- Select the presentation type and category
- Provide keywords to assist in categorisation of your abstract
- Enter the title in sentence case (lowercase, only first letter capitalised) without punctuation. Example: Title of my presentation for the conference
- Enter the name of all authors and their organisations, and indicate the presenting author by ticking the relevant box
- Type or paste the abstract text into the relevant field (max 300 words, excluding title, authoring or cited references)
- Preview your abstract, make any changes required, and finalise your submission
- You will receive an email confirmation — check your junk folder if it doesn’t arrive.
To make changes after submission, log onto your online registration dashboard and click “View Submission” then “Preview/edit abstract”. Changes can only be made until the submission deadline, after which any changes should be sent to: Conference Secretariat ASN Events.
Important: It is a condition of having your abstract accepted and included in the conference program that you are a registered and paid delegate. You may submit an abstract without completing registration at this time.
If you have any issues submitting your abstract, please contact ASN Events.
Committee review
The Organising Committee will review all submissions before selecting presentations for the conference program.
Acceptance notification
Once reviewing is completed, organisers will notify abstract presenters of their acceptance. Specific presentation instructions will be included in the notification.
Web publishing
A couple of weeks before the conference, the final program will be published to this page along with hyperlinks to the abstracts. If you do not wish to have your abstract published, please indicate this when completing your submission.
